A note from Us

A day for any therapist at Sea to Sky Massage Therapy & Wellness can see quite the variety of clientele. We pride ourselves on being able to meet each patient where they are at, and regardless of what brings you in the door, we are committed to ensuring you leave feeling seen, heard and cared for; and hopefully a whole lot better than when you walked in!

We certainly see no shortage of outdoor enthusiasts- mountain biking, climbing, windsurfing, paddling, skiing, dirt biking, sledding, gardening, running, hockey, swimming, soccer, hiking- you get the idea…this place truly has something for everyone. And whatever your particular flavour might be, we are always eager to help people get back to the sport and activity they love to do.

In this day in age, there is also no lack in those looking to alleviate back neck and shoulder tension due to postural strains and the inevitable computer hunch – we all know it, and despite it being difficult to avoid, it is certainly something we can help ease- and offer some more long term ideas to ward it off too!

Apart from the physical wear and tear we see in athletes, weekend warriors, desk jockeys, students, patients with chronic pain or repetitive strain type injuries, and the strains of pregnancy, we also see those looking to go further in their personal healing journeys. Massage can be incredibly nourishing and grounding from a touching aspect, and no matter what brings you in the door, we hope you leave feeling more in tune with your own body and what you need to thrive.

We are always committed to providing a safe, supportive healing space and love taking on the role of a healing facilitator but the true healer of you is…YOU! 🙂

Great experience and RMT massage from Caroline. She was able to bill directly to my benefits with Green Shield as well which is always a huge plus. The ability to see real-time availability online is great since sometimes last minute slots open up.

Community Focused

Registered Massage Therapists Rates

While we strive to keep our rates affordable for our community, we are also mindful of the ever-increasing cost to practice and live, especially in the ever-expanding town of Squamish. If cost is a barrier to accessing services please speak with your RMT or email info@seatoskymassage.ca.

Our current rates are as follows for a therapeutic massage treatment with an RMT.

60 min RMT Massage – $130
Our most popular treatment option gives you the ability to really focus on a couple of different areas or to melt into the table for a more general head-to-toe experience. (Please choose this treatment length for all first-time visits to our clinic.)

45 min RMT Massage – $110
A great option if you’d like to zone in on a specific area of the body. Note that not every practitioner offers this time slot.

30 min RMT Massage – $75
Not for initial appointments. A great option for kids, TMJ work or a super quick and focused tune-up on one area. Please call to book this option.

90 min RMT Massage – $185
If you’ve got LOTS to work on this option could be for you. Only offered online by one of our therapists, for any other time options please give us a call.

60 minute treatment with a student practitioner – $40
As part of training to become an RMT students must complete a practicum placement. A treatment with a STUDENT THERAPIST from the Pacific Coastal College of Massage includes assessment and homecare, and can sometimes include intake time with a supervisor present. (Please note this is a learning environment and these treatments CANNOT be claimed for extended health or WCB, ICBC, etc.)

60 min bodywork treatment with a non-registered massage therapist- $75
A discounted option for a session with a GRADUATE of Pacific Coastal College of Massage Therapy. While graduate students prepare to write their board examinations to become RMTs, they can offer their expertise at a discounted rate. (Please note these treatments CANNOT be claimed for extended health or WCB, ICBC etc.)

A New Wellness Approach

As Sea to Sky Massage and Wellness continues to evolve to meet the needs of an ever-expanding and changing community, we are excited to begin to offer an array of different modalities. The beginning of this journey is with Lauren Lozinsky, Physiotherapist (PT) and owner of Glow Physiotherapy. To read up on Lauren’s offerings and to book a treatment, please visit her business website.

We are looking forward to bringing on more wellness practitioners who offer an array of skills varying from more “traditional” to more “holistic” focuses. Stay tuned!

(And absolutely reach out if this is you or someone you know!)

Am I Expected To Tip My Massage Therapist?

No. The practise of tipping is never expected when you visit your massage therapist. The BEST tip is a referral which we always appreciate.

If you are seeing our intern massage therapist and are so inclined, it can be more customary to tip them as through their learning journey they are essentially providing treatment without receiving payment personally (as payment for massage goes to the clinic for room rental time).

We know how valuable direct offering billing can be for our clients, and we do our best to accommodate as many insurances as possible. We are currently direct billing the following insurance providers. If you do not see your insurance provider on this list, contact us.

Massage Therapy

Registered massage therapy combines eastern and western health care philosophies to treat conditions ranging from chronic injuries and physical dysfunction to relieving the stress of everyday life, and uses hands-on techniques to help the body heal injuries as well as prevent new ones from occurring. Therapeutic massage can include deep tissue work, Trigger point release, Swedish relaxation techniques, passive range of motion and muscle energy as well as the other modalities listed below. With any massage therapy treatment, you are in full control. If a particular modality or technique or area being treated is causing you discomfort please let your therapist know immediately so they can adjust accordingly.

“No pain no gain” is definitely not a slogan we identify with.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy is a very anatomically precise modality that’s approached energetically. This gentle type of manual therapy can create dramatic improvements in your life. Its light touch releases restrictions deep in the body to relieve dysfunction and pain, physically, emotionally and energetically.

In this work, we connect with the Craniosacral system, consisting of soft tissue and fluid that protect, feed and detoxify our brain and spinal cord that articulate with every other system as a whole. When part of our system is compromised, Craniosacral can support the body to relax, unwind and release. The effects can be profound and issues can be worked on at a level that many other manual techniques cannot reach.

Visceral Massage

Visceral Mobilization is a specialized form of manual therapy focused on the treatment of the organs located in the abdominal and chest cavities. Visceral manipulation can help restore normal organ function and relieve chronic pain related to organ restriction such as IBS, .

Pregnancy Massage

From the first week of pregnancy to the day you deliver, massage therapy can help your body transition through the stages of pregnancy. Massage can help relieve back, leg and pelvic pain and encourage proper joint mobility as your pregnancy progresses. Massage directly over the abdomen in the third trimester can serve as an introduction to stress relief techniques for your soon-to-arrive infant.

Infant Massage

Parents bringing their infant in for treatment will learn how to administer gentle techniques which will help their child with symptoms such as abdominal cramping which can occur with colicky infants or with the introduction of new types of food. Massage can also help relieve growing pains and help your baby sleep more soundly.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release provides sustained pressure into myofascial restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. It is often done without the use of oil and lotion. The fascia is a system of connective tissue in the body that has an appearance similar to a spider’s web. Fascia surrounds, infuses and protects every other tissue, tendon, muscle, bone, ligament and organ of the body in a continuous web from your head to your toes. In this way, you can begin to see that each part of the entire body is connected to every other part by the fascia, like the yarn in a sweater. Research has proven that fascia, like muscles, has the ability to contract and relax and plays a major role in the mobility and stability of joints.

In the normal healthy state, the fascia is relaxed and wavy in configuration. It has the ability to stretch and move without restriction. When we experience physical trauma or even poor posture, however, the fascia loses its pliability. It becomes tight, restricted and a source of tension for the rest of the body. It affects our flexibility and stability and is a determining factor in our ability to withstand stress and strain.

Intra Oral TMJ treatment

Whether you have been diagnosed with TMJD (Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction) or have pain in your jaw, near your ears or head, or experience headaches, a therapeutic TMJ massage might be key to alleviating your discomfort. Treatment consists of massage to the muscles and fascia of your neck, shoulders, face, head and mouth. Focus is directed to the muscles of mastication (aka chewing) both externally and intraorally, and any areas of pain referral.

The temporomandibular joint is the only joint in the body that is bilateral and therefore is at greater risk for imbalance. Muscle work for TMJ dysfunction is widely agreed among dentists and medical doctors to be the first and often most effective line of intervention for TMJD and related issues.

Student Massage Therapy

A very large part of the education required to become an RMT is hands-on, real-life work with the public- after all, that is the end goal. This equips student massage therapists to integrate more seamlessly into a clinical setting and experience a wide array of different people, issues and treatment plans. Intern massage therapists are PRACTISING so please be mindful that assessment, consultation with supervisors and reassessment will be a part of your one-hour visit.

Please note that active ICBC WCB or patients involved in any type of litigation due to personal injury cannot be seen by intern therapists, and extended health care plans cannot be billed.
